Maya Devi Adventure Centre is the hub of our operations in Nepal. It has been home to the Himalayan Frontiers crew since 2003, and in the few short years of our tenure in this idyllic location, Maya Devi has become a focal point for travellers and adventurers alike.

Based at the foot of Sarangkot, (1610m) and sited on the shores of Lake Phewa, Maya Devi Village provides a relaxing hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Pokhara, which is just a short 2km walk or jeep-ride away. To the south and west, the vast Lake Phewa and mountains behind it dominate the views, providing a spectacular backdrop for the setting sun. At night, free from any light or noise pollution, Maya Devi becomes a haven of tranquillity.

Maya Devi Adventure Centre has been thoughtfully designed and constructed using local materials and traditional architecture, and provides the following facilities:

Restaurant & Bar
Favoured by both travellers and locals, Maya Devi Village Restaurant & Bar has become popular for its simple yet tasty foods from across the world. Our local cooking staff have successfully combined the rich tastes of the subcontinent with international cuisine to deliver a varied and popular menu. Together with traditional Nepali dishes such as Dal Bhat, we offer international winners such as corn chowder soup, lasagne and steak sandwiches. We often provide end of trip BBQ parties here for our guests.

We have hammocks and  bamboo furniture both in the shade or out in the sun for guests to lounge in whilst they wait for their food or for a delicious fruit cocktail / cold beer.

Accommodation
The central restaurant and bar area is surrounded by 5 detached satellite lodges that provide luxurious and peaceful accommodation for our guests.  Each with ensuite facilities providing hot water, shower, toilet, basin and bedrooms with stunning views as standard, you will be hard pushed to find a more congenial environment to relax in.

The accommodation is surrounded by beautiful gardens which host a variety of flora and fauna. Bougainvillea and jasmines scent the air, whilst mature bamboo borders provide privacy and a home for our resident minor birds.  Our signature thatched roofs provide homes for a variety of small wildlife. Wild owls, hawks and kestrels complete the picture and are regularly seen patrolling the area, a testament to the rich pickings on offer.

Single-track trails litter the area, leading through forest and woodland and up into the mountains, providing 1st class MTB or day-trekking opportunities. Pokhara is also one of the world’s finest paragliding destinations, and you too can learn to fly through our sister company ‘Frontiers Paragliding’.

The future
